Description Images from one of the world's great migrations. The largest group of humpback whales on the planet use Exmouth Gulf in Western Australia as a crucial rest stop on their southern migration from the birthing grounds in the Kimberly to the krill rich waters of Antarctica. This shallow and sheltered north facing bay is a largely unrecognised but critical habitat for the new season calves. Here they will rest and build strength and endurance for the long journey ahead.
