Description When I am flying above the Earth,
racing through the sky
with the wind tearing at my hair
and my eyes watering,
there is the feeling of freedom
and excitement
and a little danger.

I am awed by the wonder of Nature:
its grand scale;
its intricacy;
its artistry.

When I am photographing,
the noise disappears
and there is only "this moment:"
an awareness of composition,
shape, colour, texture and form,
and a sense of raw immediacy.

I am filled with an indescribable joy.

I hope that a little of my joy
and wonder
can be conveyed to you
from within the pages of this book.
