Description Bryan Poynton was one of Australia's most skilled wood craftsmen, appreciated by other woodworkers, sculptors and artists as well as those who admire the collaboration of beauty form and function. He trained as a Pattern maker in the 1950's in Australia where he honed his skills of precision construction. At the age of 15, he was already carving beautiful objects with much skill, and dedicated his life to his craft and communing with timber to accentuate it's beauty. His creations span furniture, musical instruments, vessels, boxes and free form sculptures. His sculptures include tribal tones, whimsical fancy, philosophical statements and exquisite letter carving of some of his haiku poems.
